Project Stages
The project lifecycle consists of three stages: create, build and
operate. Create entails defining a project and seeking
financing. Build consists of the fund disbursement and actual
building of the project. Operate not only signals the sustainment of the
project asset, but also in financial terms, refinance and debt repayment phase
over the remaining lifecycle of the project.
Each stage holds its own unique set of strategic
and operational requirements. The project lifecycle is often very
extensive and inefficient, creating an environment of complexity and
challenges, not only within each stage, but also between them. These inefficiencies
fuel a history of waste, litigation, and fragmentation, which are
complicated by dysfunctional project and financing events.
