Business Scope Definition
The comparison between the deliverables developed internally and the
interviews conducted externally allows us to identify some significant
elements to consider when defining BIG’s business scope:
-
BIG’s role: BIG must assume a role of
business facilitator and business generator and maintain a high,
even though not absolute, degree of neutrality.
-
Market definition and segmentation:
the business scope is not homogeneous, from a geographical point of
view and depending on the type of project. This requires the
definition and segmentation of the markets.
-
Service offering definition and segmentation:
the kind and quality of BIG's service offering must be targeted on
a market segmentation basis. BIG's service offering may be direct,
i.e. it need not only operate as a service technology platform.
The reference business model is the second one - Medium degree of
neutrality
